Siegerland-Wittgenstein

The Via Adrina

You do need to bring some stamina with you. It’s up hill and down dale: on narrow paths or natural tracks through unspoilt sections of forest and beautiful meadow valleys and in between, time and time again, magnificent panoramic views into the distance and over the flood plains of the Eder that weaves through this region with its many meanders. Known by enthusiasts as the “Scenic Trail,” this extremely varied 20.5 km long circular route runs from the Eder bridge in Arfeld to Schwarzenau and then back along the other side of the river to the starting point.

The Wittgensteiner Schieferpfad (Slate Trail)

This hiking highlight offers adventurous and entralling experiences over the course of its approx. 14 km long route. Virtually alpine gradient paths alternate with easy walking routes. Bizarre rocky cliffs and overgrown slate quarries create an appealing contrast to the delightful meadows that run along the sides of the Eder. This is an exciting nature-based experience for families too. The trail starts in the car park at the Eder in Raumland.
