The Lahn-Dill-Bergland

The Rothaarsteig Trail

Enjoy nature with all your senses – the concept of the Rothaarsteig promises you an experience of diversity with nature: A large number of nature-based trails, lots of information boards that refer to significant points of interest in terms of  natural history, culture and history, interactive experiences, specially designed benches to relax, forest loungers and picnic tables. Superb trails marked with an easy to remember logo and a well-signposted network of trails means that it is easy and safe to reach your target destination.

Lahn-Taunus

The Rheinsteig Trail

Nature, culture and adventure-packed hiking – the Rheinsteig offers an abundance of all of these over the course of its 320 kilometres. It starts in Bonn, sweeps through the densely forested Siebengebirge mountains on the right bank of the Rhine, the craggy section of rocks in the Middle Rhine area and the angular Rheingau vineyards and finishes in Wiesbaden. Numerous castles, palaces and fortresses are located along the route and record the cultural wealth of the Rhine Valley. The continuous marking of the trails is of a high standard and is supplemented with nearly 1,000 signposts that provide tourist information about destinations, near and far, with information on the distance in kilometres and using pictograms.
