Imposing castle ruins characterise the landscape of the romantic Mittellahn, with its municipalities of Löhnberg, Merenberg, Weinbach, Villmar and Runkel. The Lahn marble, which was quarried in Villmar was world famous. The UNICA marble quarry provides impressive insights into a Devonian reef today, as a valuable natural monument.
